Salithius has gone full maniac, and it’s Edmund’s job to end it. No Order approval, no debate. At least Amy’s already in Sweetwater and up to speed. Behind Sweetwater’s temple walls awaits Mother Jana, who not only confirms Egersund's dire state but unveils the unthinkable: a cure may be possible—if they can deliver an undead soul.

As the Swift sinks into darkness, so does Dolf’s certainty. Jean dies. Again. This time Dolf doesn't hesitate—he sacrifices a diamond, a piece of Helga’s millennia-old body, to bring him back. But the miracle leaves a deeper scar than the wound. The weight of resurrection tightens around his soul. Before dawn, they face fireflies that rot steel, bugbears in the trees, and the splintering tension of a group constantly flirting with death. In Amy’s wind, Dolf sees the same strange fate threading through others he’s never met—others who’ve also crossed paths with Salithius.

Port Noonan turns into a party when Amy dons her bird hat and declares herself the leader (unofficially). Between chicken wings, weed, and magical archery, she proves she's more than comic relief—especially after scoring a badass bow from Irwin. But peace is short-lived. A faceless freak wades out of the sea and nearly kills Jean. Amy’s wind magic saves the day (with flair, obviously), and Dolf double-clutches another miracle. Amy’s past with Edmund’s crew bubbles beneath the surface as she fights to prove she’s more than a sidekick this time.

Following a fiery dispute with Archambault, Edmund finds himself accused of threats and arrested by city authorities. Though he initially refuses, a strategic retreat to avoid Willard’s fury sees him accept a brief incarceration. Freed, he turns his focus to The Cauldron—securing it as the party’s future sanctuary and relocating Aerunda’s treasure from Bastion. With construction left to Mabel’s oversight and tensions in the city simmering, Edmund quietly shifts the centre of gravity to a place entirely under his control.

Haunted by Helga’s silence, Linnfard reflects on pride and purpose as the party returns to Aerunda’s lair. Among shimmering jewels and ancient relics, they recover his bastard sword and plunder a chamber glittering with stolen glory. Yet amid rubies, diamonds, and a mirror that reveals hidden truths, Linnfard alone wrestles with guilt. Victory feels hollow. The dragon is dead, the gold is theirs—but righteousness, he learns, isn’t always weighed in treasure.

Linnfard’s dragon-slaying daydreams are cut short by fire exploding through Willard’s kitchen—turns out the red dragon tracked them home. Mabel’s nearly roasted, Edmund turns into a freaking hydra, and Jon flips across the courtyard stabbing tails while Linnfard flails with a “borrowed” short sword. Abby, in a blur, carves through the chaos and decapitates the beast. Victory smells like scorched wood and dragon blood. While guards gawk, Edmund assigns heart-removal duty to Linnfard, who now dreams of ruby-studded armour and impressing Amy. Just as long as someone finds his sword before he names himself Linnfard the Legendary.

Back at the Elium, sparks fly—not from swords, but between Abby and Edmund, who turn flirtation into full-on bench groping during a sparring session. Later, Mother Jana requests the team investigate the deaths of Linnfard’s missionary parents. They agree reluctantly. That night, Edmund knocks on Abby’s door. He doesn’t leave.

Linnfard’s idiocy ignites a blood-soaked clash in vampire territory, where the group battles shadowy predators guarding their human snack. Amy, charmed and bleeding, turns her bow on Abby, forcing Safin to knock her out. As vampires vanish and reappear, Abby, Edmund, and Safin each fall, rise, and push forward. Later, Edmund and Safin descend into a dark den to recover a drained, shackled Linnfard. He’s saved—barely—but the ancient truce is in ruins, and so are the party’s nerves.

There, “The Village Idiot” (a pirate leader) tries to ambush them, but Safin attacks first. As pirates pour from buildings, Edmund incinerates them with fireballs. Safin and Rouse clear the rest. Their mission: deliver a letter to a man named Andrew. But upon arriving at Andrew’s cabin, they unwittingly trigger a trap, unleashing a deadly flesh golem. The creature proves immune to Edmund’s magic and tragically kills Mila. Pressing on, they encounter Christian Couver, a monk with questionable morals, and send him back to his monastery. The next day, the group is ambushed and captured by a band of riders led by Robert Moss—mercenaries hired by Bastion councilman John MacEachern to kill the party and kidnap Abby.

Edmund recounts the chaotic origins of the group that would become central to the Salithius saga. Beginning with orc attacks and a ruined town, the tale follows a band of survivors—Abby, Francis, Jon, Barit, Hanna, and others—through battles with trolls, beholders, undead, and even a vampire. Along the way, they lose comrades, uncover dwarven ruins, and retrieve a dragon egg as payment for a mysterious mage’s favour. Francis's death at The Forks marks a tragic turning point, and Abby’s heartfelt letter home sets the stage for the group’s next mission—northward to deliver a letter that might change everything.
